Journeys into postmodern cityscapes. Or how to find one's way through the chaos

The paper deals with different stances in postmodem discussion around how contemporary globalization-driven changes in spatiotemporal formations have impacted upon cityscapes. Since those have become central guidelines in contemporary cultural criticism, the paper focuses on the two following issues: the question of memory, and the meaningless pastiched images and aesthetic forms which History is argued to have been reduced to within those landscapes, on the one hand; and on the other hand, the thematizing of contemporary spatial logics around the idea of chaos and fragmentation, as they have been argued to be the main features for understanding global cityscapes.
