Full-scale and wind-tunnel measurements of the wind and wind-induced pressures over suburban terrain

Full-scale and wind-tunnel measurements of wind-induced pressures on windward and leeward side of a building in built-up terrain are compared. The wind velocity spectrum in the wind tunnel is shifted towards higher reduced frequencies, compared to the full-scale data. The full-scale pressure spectra attenuate faster than velocity spectra in full scale. In the wind tunnel, this was not observed. The attenuation was less than that reported in the literature. The coherence of pressures is identical in full scale and wind tunnel in many cases, except when one point is in the middle of the windward facade. The coherence is better than that predicted in quasi-steady theory. Full-scale results are compared with the quasisteady assumption.
