摘要
The development of new GC column stationary phase strategies has been lacking over the past two decades. This situation has changed with the advent of ionic liquids (ILs) in viable GC column formats. Extensive R&D over the last ten years has focused on the properties and uses of ILs in analytical formats. This article discusses the unique properties of ILs and their potential impact as GC stationary phases. Their important role in current and future separations is described.
