摘要
the research aim on studying how business intelligence practices can be applied to the educational industry and support its decision making process. Practices of a business intelligence system can be found in various departments of an educational institution such as admissions, academics, and management. Having the ability to combine huge volumes of data and get insights for students throughout their studies lifecycle lead to an improved decision making process which consequently support the strategic aims. The research strategy followed is the case study approach using qualitative semi-structured interviews, and qualitative content analysis for the data analysis. The findings from the literature review underline that the business intelligence technology have positive influence in the decision making process and it can support various operation areas in an educational institution. The main conclusions drawn from the empirical research are managers' positive perception toward possible implementation of business intelligence at the University of Nicosia, as also benefits that can be gain from it.
