An Efficient Analytical Technique for Optimal Sizing of Distributed Generations in Radial Distribution System Considering Load Variation

摘要
Increasing the load demand in radial distribution systems (RDSs) may lead to some technical issues which affect the overall system efficiency. Hence, integration of distributed generations (DGs) is considered an effective solution to overcome these issues. Therefore, this paper presents an optimization method based on an analytical technique for optimal allocation of DGs in RDS to minimize the power loss. The main advantage of analytical technique is it calculates the exact DG size at each bus which yields to minimize power loss. The efficiency of analytical technique is approved using IEEE standard 69-bus system. In addition, the optimal DG allocation is carried out in presence of three fixed levels of loading from 50% to 150% of the average load. A comparison between the analytical technique and other optimization techniques is accomplished to show the feasibility of the analytical technique. The results show the ability of the analytical technique in the optimal placement of DGs in RDS.
