Birnessite MnO2 decorated MWCNTs composite as a nonenzymatic hydrogen peroxide sensor

摘要
In this work, manganese dioxide (MnO2) nanostructure (similar to 100 nm) were decorated on the surface of MWCNTs (multi-walled carbon nanotubes). From the electrochemical measurements, it was observed that hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) sensor based on the MWCNTs/MnO2 showed a wide linear range (100 mu M - 20.5 mM) with a limit of detection of 6.97 mu M and sensitivity of 13.9 mu A/mM/cm(2). In addition, the electrode exhibited high stability, good selectivity and long shelf-life for the detection of H2O2. The high surface area of the composite and good electrocatalytic activity of MnO2, which make the electrode a promising transducer for non-enzymatic H2O2 sensing.
