摘要
Based on an exhaustive search through two of the main Spanish legal databases, specially GAZETA, by the 'Boletin Oficial del Estado', and LEDA, by the Ministry of Education, this paper summarises the curricular legal regulations undertaken in Spain between 1857 and 1970, a period of full applicability for the so called Moyano Law, regarding the physical education contents in the curricular level concerning the elementary teachers training. We have found during the liberalism from 1857 a legislative attention payed to the teacher's training comparable to the one that was dedicated to the Secondary education, although unlike this one, physical education had a more fluctuating character, in terms of appearing in some series of reforms or not appearing in others. The Second Republic had a well-conceived plan whose successful prescriptions needed very little further revision. For its part, educational first Francoism also devoted some attention to the teacher's training, which with few exceptions always had subjects dedicated to physical education.
