Emission of SO2 From Iron Ore and Fuel Used in Sintering Process

摘要
For the two important components of sintering raw materials - iron ore and fuel, the emergence and emission of SO2 in the heating process are studied in laboratory. Keeping temperature as 1100 degrees C, the SO2 emissions of the samples over heating time are also observed. Comparing the results with SO2 emissions of the actual sintering material, it can be concluded that the sulfur content and sulfur existence forms affect SO2 emissions to a large extent. Sulfur releases earlier and SO2 concentration is higher for fuel than for the iron ore during sintering process, which lasts for the whole test period. Under constant temperature conditions, with the heating time going, the SO2 emissions from fuel continue to increase, while the iron is just opposite. Concentration of SO2 for the actual sintering material is less than that of those two components separately, which is due to the existence of the alkaline flux in it. The results from this work can provide a reference to analyze the SO2 emissions in actual sintering process, and to find a reasonable method of desulfurization.
