摘要：

This paper examines the formation of international strategic alliances by UK growers of fresh produce from a resource dependency perspective. Eighteen international alliances were studied. Preliminary findings suggest support for existing theory relating to the interdependence of partners and the nature of dependence but point to the importance of supply constraints as the main motivating factor in alliance formation, a point not emphasised by existing theory.
