Steam reforming of ethanol over metal/TiO2 catalysts

摘要
A (1:4 v/v) EtOH-H2O mixt., 100 cm(3) (S.T.P)/min, was steam-reformed over 0.1 g of a 0.5-0.7-mm 10%Ni(or Co)TiO2 or a 1.5%Ru(or Ru-Fe)/TiO2 catalyst at 300-600 degrees C/1 atm. The Ni and the Ru catalysts gave max. H-2 yields, 4.7 and 4.1 mol/mol EtOH, resp. At 400, 500 and 600 degrees C, coke was formed on the Ni catalyst, 69, 1125, and 2331 mg C/g, resp. Addnl. promoters are required to suppress undesirable side reactions and coking.
