Experimental studies of dynamic variations in the ozone vertical distribution over Antarctica

摘要
Dynamic variations in the ozone vertical distribution N-O3 (h), measured by the microwave method over Mirny observatory (66.5degreesS, 93degreesE) in the period from July 1989 to February 1990, are analyzed. The procedure of N-O3 (h) retrieval at altitudes of 20-70 km has been substantially improved as compared to such a procedure used in previous publications of these measurements. The ozone diurnal variations in the mesosphere and upper stratosphere are analyzed. The N-O3 (h) diurnal variations in the lower stratosphere have been found. The variation in N-O3 (h) during sudden warmings (including the major winter warming), subsequent motions of air masses, and a transition from the winter stratospheric circulation to the summer one is analyzed. The results obtained are compared to the data of aerological and ozone observations.
