Three-dimensional image presentation for electrical capacitance tomography

摘要
With the movement of two-phase flow in a pipeline, a series of 2D cross-section images can be reconstructed by a suitable reconstruction method. 3D visualization can be achieved by interpolating these 2D slices into a 3D image as in many medical applications. 3D image reconstruction involves 2D image contour extracting, contour matching, contour interpolation and 3D image surface reconstruction. In this paper, the contour extracting was implemented by straight correlation-operation on the cross-section images; the contour matching was realized using method based on angle sample; the contour interpolation was achieved by using B spline interpolation, and 3D surface was reconstructed by connecting two adjacent contour lines with triangle mesh. 3D reconstruction and visualization results based on data obtained from FEM model are given.
