摘要
Due to the increasing capabilities of our today's computer systems and computer networks it is self-explanatory that computer applications in engineering, and in particular in civil engineering, ought to be as realistic as possible. Such a desire, however, results necessarily in highly sophisticated computer models of the real world problems. To master the enormous complexity of the computer solution associated with such models a multi-level and multi-paradigm approach becomes indispensable. Within this contribution, four thematically diverse application examples are examined to demonstrate the generic modus operandi for the computer-based solution methodology that has to applied for such multi-level and multi-paradigm problems.
