Perspectives on computer-based assessment of problem solving

The persepectives on computer-based assessment of problem solving were presented. Computer technology provided consistent, high-quality assessments, at reduced costs at both local and remote sites. Efficient problem solving required the understanding of content, intellectual tricks, metacognition and motivation to perform effort and self-efficacy. Computer-based performance assessment was capable of providing more comprehensive domain coverage, timely reporting of results and rapid update of assessment materials.
