Social reality of sociological discourse

Social reality of sociological discourse (by Yulia Markova) suggests in her paper a genetic and constructivist approach to be developed in order to further the analyses of epistemological bases of the current sociological discourse. The paper is based on the method of content analysis applied to a body of academic articles published in the major Russian-language sociological journals in 1997 through 2000. The texts thus analyzed permitted the author to arguably construct a 'social reality' of the developing sociological discourse and to put forward a number of hypotheses relating to the recent Russian academic discourse and the respective sociological field in the sense of P. Bourdieu's writing with the framework of an ideal-typical movement from communist to democratic society.
