KNOWLEDGE FLOWS AND TECHNOLOGICAL CHANGES

Knowledge is the most important resource that enables firms to generate and adopt to technological changes, and therefore a particular interest is shown to producing. protecting and capturing new knowledge. The concept of "knowledge flow" refers to intentional or unintentional circulation of knowledge through formal or informal channels. As opposed to physical assets, the protection and transfer of knowledge is more difficult to control. Based on all extensive literature review, this paper aims to clarify the concept of knowledge flow and its role in the innovation process. Moreover, in spite of the significant amount of previous research on this topic, there is still a lack of agreement regarding the methodological approach of measuring the knowledge flow, so that we propose a hew, complex model that can help both researchers and practitioners to better understand and manage the technological change processes in which they are involved.
