Application of dissolved air flotation (DAF) to remediate groundwater contamination

摘要：
Dissolved air flotation (DAF) is an efficient means of separating solids from liquids by extracting suspended solids to the surface for removal. A patented air-dissolving system has been developed for use in laboratory bench-study and field pilot-scale studies. This system evaluates the removal efficiency when remediating the groundwater of a RCRA (Resources Conservation and Recovery Act) site (SITE) for solids and metals. The DAF effluent has been found to yield a turbidity as low as 4 NTU compared to 7 similar to 10 NTU obtained from the current sedimentation process.
