Contemporary Implications of Good Governance Principles in Romania: The Role of Civil Society in Increasing Public Accountability

Firstly, the study synthetically analyzes the principles of good governance from conceptual perspective, as emphasized by doctrine, and especially from the viewpoint of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the White Paper of European Governance. Secondly, the study is focused on the research of public policies and legislation evolution with regard to implementation of good governance principles and particularly to public accountability in Romani with a special emphasis on the role of civil society in increasing public administration transparence and consequently in reducing and fighting corruption. Thirdly, the study's objective is to conduct research on the implementation of good governance principles in Romania by comparison with other European states, using as reference points good governance indicators that have been ascertained EUROSTAT (European Community Statistics Service), and it also goes into details on conclusions are suggestions.
