The author first recalls the historical constitution of the field of hallucinations, with the works of Esquirol, J. Baillarger, J.P. Falret, J. Seglas, Regis, Clerambault, Mayer-Gross and Morselli. Next, he explains the actual state of the question and the necessity of considering the heterogeneity of the field, particularly with the place of the verbal hallucinations and sexual hallucinations.
