摘要
This research focused on investigating in the effect of activation temperature on the physicochemical properties of palm empty fruit bunch (PEFB) based activated carbon prepared by physical activation with carbon dioxide. The activation temperature was studied in the range of 400-800 degrees C by keeping the activation temperature at 800 degrees C for 120 min. It was found that the porous properties of activated carbon decreased with an increase in carbonization temperature. The activated carbons prepared at the highest activation temperature at 800 degrees C and activation time of 120 min gave the activated carbon with the highest of BET surface area and pore volume of 938 m(2)/g and 0.4502 cm(3)/g, respectively
