ROGER BOSCOVICH AND HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTS, IN PARTICULAR WITH THE TERRITORY OF THE BALKANS

This article focuses on the private correspondence of the renowned 18-century scientist, particularly with regard to the letters written to his brother, Bartolomeo Boscovich, and his travel journal, Giornale di un viaggio da Costantinopoli in Polonia (1784), with the intention of clarifying the main aspects of his observations, expressed during his travels about the Slavic area of Europe. From his correspondence and his travel journal emerge his interest in these urban areas and their cultural heritage, as well as his interest in nature and in the local people's lifestyle.
