摘要
In the literature in general and in the present work, there are several indications that cognitive processes, as the executive function, are implicit in eating behavior. And more than that, the executive functions of these patients, and especially those with binge eating, appear to be at a loss. This research aimed to evaluate executive functions in patients who present binge eating, independent of psychiatric and / or medical diagnosis. A systematic review of the literature on pubmed, google academic and lilacs databases was carried out, researching about one hundred and sixty-five scientific articles between the years of 2013 and 2019, and also reading some books related to the subject for a better theoretical background. It is believed that studying and detecting deficits in executive functions in patients with binge eating will lead to positive gains and perspectives, as the targeting for more effective treatment interventions, recognition of the causes of risk, prognosis and severity of the condition with more subsidies, among others.
