Detention and involuntary treatment of persons with mental disorders in relation to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

摘要：
The incorporation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities into German low affects detention and involuntary treatment of persons with mental disorders according to Germany's mental health laws. Amendments of these laws or at least to restrictive interpretation of the current mental health laws will be required. A revision of the norms regarding involuntary treatment is recommended to achieve conformity with the convention.
