摘要
The present work analyzes how the independent variables Personality and Intelligence can be predicted over the dependent variable Educational Achievement in a sample of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) students in a higher education institution. The Personality variable comprises the five classic factors: Energy or Extroversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Emotional Stability and Openness to Experience. The Intelligence variable includes six factors: Oral Comprehension, Numerical Ability, Attention, Reasoning (Numerical Series), Coding and Cognitive Ability (Diagrams). An exploratory correlational analysis has yielded results that sustain the existence of significant statistical relationships between Energy and Diagrams - which respectively correspond to the independent variables of Personality and Intelligence - and the variable of Educational Achievement. The other dimensions of Personality and Intelligence are not relevant to the prediction of Educational Performance. These findings underline the importance of incorporating to future explanatory models of Educational and Job Performance only those factors that have shown to be predictable on this investigation criterion, and pursue in the definition of more precise models.
