Structural parameter identification approaches for interconnected nonlinear systems

This document describes two recursive structural identification approaches for determining the model order and estimating the time-delay of large-scale interconnected systems, which are decomposed into several interconnected Single-Input Single-Output (SISO) Hammerstein structures and modeled by discrete-time deterministic models with unknown time-varying parameters. An improved Determinant Ratio algorithm (DR) is developed to estimate the order of the considered system. The formulation of the time-delay estimation problem is achieved by applying a discrete-time approach combined with the recursive least squares techniques. Numerical simulation examples are treated to validate the developed analytical results.
