Theoretical analysis on real-time monitoring of corrosion condition

摘要
The polarization resistance technique can be applied only to systems, for which the proportional coefficient of polarization resistance R-p to corrosion rate i(corr) is confirmed prior to the measurement. In order to eliminate this limitation, an electrochemical study on polarization resistance of corrosion system being under slightly polarized condition by stationary external current was conducted, and a theoretical relationship between polarization resistance and stationary external current was derived. From the examination of the result, a new real-time measurement technique for electrochemical parameters, anodic- and cathodic- Tafel slopes, polarization conductance, K value, and the like, is expected. Consequently, a basis for a new electrochemical method, which enables to determine real-time corrosion condition without changing the corrosion condition, was proposed.
