Myxoid liposarcoma of the breast in female - A case report

Breast liposarcoma is very rare malignant primary breast tumor and it have an incidence of 0,3% of all breast sarcomas. A 66- year old woman presented with a tumorous mass of the left breast. The excised part of breast measured 6x5x3,5 cm. The serial sections revealed well-circumscribed nodular mass yellowish, glistened and lobular.. Tumor mass measured 3,2x3x3 cm. Histological examination showed proliferation of spindle shaped cells and signetring lipoblasts in myxoid matrix as well as delicate branching capillaries were noted. Cytoplasm of tumor cells were positive staining for Sudan III dye. Ultrastructuraly numerous fatty vacuoles of variable size were found. Phyllodes tumor was excluded because if abscense of epithelial component. Additionally mastectomy was done. And adjuvant therapy has not been given.
