Industrial reuse of effluent in the integrated urban water management

摘要
The objective of this work is the integrated analysis of the industrial reuse of effluent in the perspective of three dimensions: i) water demand of the industrial and urban sector; ii) industrial GDP; iii) Brazilian scientific production reported on the topic. This is a qualitative and quantitative research with secondary data from the National Water Agency, the National Confederation of Industry and the Web of Science platform. Data were reclassified and map algebra was applied for spatial integration of variables. The main territorial highlights were: Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, Parana, Rio Grande do Sul, Bahia and Pernambuco (high consumption and industrial GDP). Representative cases in Brazil illustrate opportunities and challenges of industrial plants by revealing their particularities. This study can support integrated urban water management and help target resources to priority regions.
