摘要：
The aim of this paper is to bring into light the translation and commentary of the first chapter of Ibn Dawud of Ispahan's (d. 909) Kitab al-Zahra, a lyrical collection and speculation about the concept of love in Bagdadian Neoplatonic thought. This text is an adaptation of Aristotelian and Platonic theories on love to the Islamic tradition, which is based on the Arab poetic tradition and the moral precepts attributed to Muhammad. It deals - from an ontological perspective - with the contemplation of beauty as an object of sensual affection, which is the origin of the ailment of love.
