摘要
The accurate network topology information is critical for the modern network management and forecasting network performance. According to the characteristics of actual heterogeneous network and the correlative protocol of network topology discovery, this paper submits an improved algorithm of physical topology discovery in heterogeneous IP networks that depends on SNMP protocol, the algorithm can discover physical layer topology in an efficient, accurate and complete way, which can be applied to both the managed devices and the non-managed dumb devices (e.g. Hubs).
