摘要：
The Sydney water contamination event was, in reality, a series of events, which resulted in the issuing of three 'boil water' notices over a period of 6 weeks. The event was unusual in that, unlike previous events reported from overseas, it was initiated by the results from a routine monitoring programme and not by the onset of illness in the population served.
