Estimation of the traffic load on bridges by the extended Kalman filter procedure

摘要：
This paper deals with the elaboration of ''Bridge Weigh-in-Motion'' (B-WIM) systems for estimating the weight of trucks moving along bridges by the knowledge of the bridge response at several points. The study is restricted to the estimation of the load of one or two oscillator(s) moving along a simply supported Euler-Bernoulli beam. Two identification techniques for the weight of the load are presented. The second one using the extended Kalman filter procedure is presented in more details and tested on several numerical examples.
