摘要
In recent years, the regulations governing diesel engine emissions become more stringent. It is difficult to fulfill these by only combustion improvement technique. Although an indirect plasma method for regenerating a diesel particulate filter (DPF) draws attention as an innovative technique, it is unknown that this technique can achieve a complete DPF regeneration, that is, all collected particulate matter (PM) can be oxidized by nonthermal plasma -induced ozone. In this study, we investigate a possibility of complete DPF regeneration by evaluating pressure differences between inlet and outlet of DPF. As a result, a complete DPF regeneration can be achieved with an ozone injection of 34.8 g/h for 2 hours after collecting PM in the DPF for 2 hours. The series of the PM collection and the DPF regeneration are performed without stopping engine operation.
