摘要：

Chemistry is having a midlife crisis. In a curious world, the human mind demands more from chemistry as a science. Chemistry and biology should collaborate to try and answer the "big" questions about the origins of life on Earth and elsewhere in the universe. These and other topics are discussed in a response to an earlier editorial about the future of chemistry.
