Balance of public policies in the rural development of the Aragonese Pyrenees

Assessment of public policies related to rural development in the Aragonese Pyrenees. The effects of public policies related to rural development on demographic and socioeconomic dynamics in the Aragonese Pyrenees are analized in this article. We have done an approach to the investment of the Common Agricultural Policy and Regional Policy and we have studied how they improve rural development. Then, we have studied the evolution of the Aragonese Pyrenees between 1981 and 2001, highlighting poblacional changes and economic transformations, focusing on the role of public policies of rural development and their relations with these changes. The main conclusion is they haven't contributed pretty enough but they have had an influence on the maintenance of some farms, the raising of cattle and rural tourism dinamization.
