QFD for decision support in telecommunications services development and deployment

摘要
Nowadays the telecommunications industry faces a big challenge for the demanding of new, reliable and cost effective services. In developing and deploying such services the telecom operators are confronted with complex decision problems such as enabling technology selection, value-added functions determination etc. While there exist a number of decision support methodologies and tools such as AHP and Expert Choice, they require a lot of effort and time in developing a complete decision system at upfront stage. In this paper we will extend Quality Function Deployment (QFD) for a quick while expressive decision support in telecom service industry. In this paper a case study of QFD decision support in designing a mobile telepresence service is presented. The QFD decision support for cost analysis is also briefly described. QFD is proved to be an efficient and reliable methodology in decision support.
