摘要
e-prescribing i.e. electronic prescribing also known as Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) is a computer-aided system which provides the health professionals with a robust platform for writing their notes including the prescription, recommended-tests, suggestions, etc. for their clients electronically rather than manually Due to dearth of normal infrastructure and facilities in healthcare system of Pakistan which are otherwise available around the globe in this modern era, there is an obvious overload on the health workers and practitioners. It is an established fact that Computerized Physician order entry (CPOE) system is very effective in reducing the medication errors. Most of the professionals in healthcare opine that CPOE is beneficial for both patients and health professionals themselves including organization. They show their interest in the adoption of this new technology centered system in our healthcare system for efficiency improvement. The results state clearly that this system is equally beneficial for organizations who want to adopt this system as perceived by the health professionals. Overall it supports the idea of adoption and implementation of CPOE in healthcare facilities in both public and private healthcare institutes. It can be concluded that CPOE should be adopted to enhance efficiency of the healthcare system for patients, health organizations as well as support healthcare professionals.
