Prenatal sonographic diagnosis of fetal right ventricular diverticulum

Right ventricular diverticula are rarely diagnosed prenatally, with only 6 cases reported to date.(1-4) They are usually small, are found at the ventricular apex or tricuspid subvalvular area, and may be accompanied by pericardial effusions. We describe a fetus in whom a subvalvular diverticulum was diagnosed at 20 weeks, which was confirmed on neonatal echocardiography. No sequelae were attributable to the diverticulum.
