摘要
Both lay people and professionals have heterogeneous opinions about the profession of financial agents. Nevertheless, it is reasonable to expect a growing impact of financial agents on individual decisions about personal finances. The most relevant psychological aspects of financial brokers' work are identified in the article. Since financial agents are intermediaries between clients and financial institutions, taking interests of both parties into consideration in their decision making seems to be inevitable. Two concepts fundamental for the understanding of financial agents' role and their decisions are elaborated upon: expertise and coping with conflict of interests in client related advice giving. Reasons why reliability could be used as a key criterion in attempts to study the expertise of financial agents are provided. A novel method is used for a demonstration of prospects and potential benefits of financial agents' expertise analysis.
