Neither "Man of the devil", nor "Man of God": Quevedo or "l'Homme des Lettres"

The present reflection begins from the reception that Rene Bouvier had about the work by Francisco de Quevedo y Villegas, categorizing it as "Homme du diable, Homme de Diem". This work is based on the postulate of a writer coherent from ethical perspectives, and pragmatic from aesthetic experiments and innovations. The goal of this artide is, without separating the philosophical-moral aspect of fictional work -whether poetic or prose-, to demonstrate that Quevedo can not be described either as "Homme de Dieu", nor "Homme du diable". Who, then, is Quevedo, from the perspective of a critic of the 21st century?
