摘要：

Mantel-Haenszel test is the most adequate statistical method to combine data from two or more contingency tables, giving a power estimation of association between exposure and effect, which is the weighted average of odds ratio of each table. This method also allows to assess the influence of confounding factors on magnitude and direction of relation between exposure and effect, avoiding the fact that the association could be bigger than it is.
