摘要
Two-dimensional (2D) layered nanomaterials have attracted much attention in photovoltaic research due to their unique properties. Among different 2D nanomaterials, MXene is new class of materials, which has shown great potential in performance improvement of solar cells owing to excellent surface enhanced properties. The application of MXene in photovoltaic has started in 2018, since then rapid progress has been made. This review articles summarizes the recent results pertaining to application of MXene particularly titanium carbide (Ti3C2Tx) in the fabrication of solar cells as different component. The strategies involved in deliberate utilization of Ti3C2Tx MXene, as additive in absorber layer, as electron/hole transport layers as well as preparation of transparent electrode, are explained and critically discussed. In the start of the review, we briefly summarize the structure and properties of the Ti3C2Tx MXene before describing its applications in photovoltaic. At last, the future prospects required to accelerate the progress in application of Ti3C2Tx MXene in solar cells, are presented. It has been realized that the content of this review article will open up the new direction for further application of MXene in the field of photovoltaic.
