Thermodynamic properties of water plus ethylene glycol at 283.15, 293.15, 303.15, and 313.15 K

Excess volumes (V-E), viscosity deviation (Delta eta), excess refraction (Delta R), and surface excess (sigma(E)) of water + ethylene glycol have been determined over the entire composition range at a number of temperatures. The results are fitted to a Redlich-Kister equation, and the corresponding parameters are derived. All the properties have negative values and exhibit a minimum at the same water-rich region of the solution. The results are discussed in terms of molecular interactions.
