Molecular detection of Helicobacter pylori Infection Comparison with RUT in Gastric Biopsy Specimens in Iran

Helicobacter pylori are one of the important pathogen responsible for chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer and gastric cancer. T he present Study aimed to comparatively evaluate PCR and RUT method for detection of H. pylori.Biopsy samples were collected from 120 patients who were referred to endoscopies department of HAJAR hospital of Shahrekord be case of dyspeptic symptoms. In order to detection of H. pylori, at the first we use of RUT method. Then DNA was extracted directly from biopsy specimens and preformed PCR-amplification for the ureC gene.The H. pylori were found in 74(%6I.66) of the patient by RUT method. in parallel ureC PCR detected H. pylori in 103(%85.83) patients. All RUT-positive patients were found to be ureC PCR positive too. These finding indicate that ureC PCR is at least as sensitive as RUT for diagnosis H. pylori infection. In addition we think that the ureC PCR could constitute a very useful diagnostic tool for H. pylori.
