Green Radio and Energy Efficient Architecture for Next Generation Cellular Networks

摘要
An energy efficient green communications cellular network architecture is proposed based on Digital Radio over Fibre (DRoF) technology, wherein a DRoF system handles communications between different micro and pico-cells in the networks. This architecture supports applications with high data rate capabilities and consists of an integrated topology of Wireless Mesh Networks (WMN) and Distributed Antenna Units (DAUs), and Remote Radio Units (RRUs). In this model the integrated topology is controlled and managed by a Cognitive Radio Access Unit (CRAU) which allows communications among the subscribed wireless devices through the network with a lower level of RF power radiation and deployed system power consumption than current cellular architectures and improved network capacity and throughput and, correspondingly, with improved quality of services.
