摘要
It is known that many conventional methods are not suitable for calculating the refractive index of a medium composed of more than two ingredients. In this paper, refractive indices of H2O-NaCl-KBr ternary solutions have been calculated by using the equation n = 1 + rho Sigma(c(j)D(Mj)). The calculated results were in good agreement with the experimental results. Theoretically, the equation n = 1 + rho Sigma(c(j)D(Mj)) can be applied to calculate refractive index of a medium composed of any number of ingredients. This work supports this point.
