Evidence Based Knowledge Retrieval from CPG Knowledge Base by Context and Statistical Analysis Techniques

Clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) are knowledge sources of evidence based best clinical practices in healthcare. Evidence-based medical knowledge improves decision making at point of care. In view of that, efforts are being put forward to develop, disseminate, and implement clinical practice guidelines. But it has been argued that to make effective use of such important knowledge sources at point of care, it is necessary to computerize them so as to use them with clinical decision support systems. We present in this paper CPGs Knowledge Retrieval (CKR) framework that deploys our context, semantics, 'statistical analysis retrieval techniques and indexing strategy). This framework retrieves the portions of CPGs knowledge content which are contextually-sensitive and semantically relevant to the problem at hand.
