摘要
Auditory evoked responses have been applied in various kinds of clinical fields. These are the electrophysiological responses that occur in the auditory tract following acoustic stimuli. They are not independent individually but are continuous responses and can be studied as a sequential recording by applying a logarithmic time axis. Also, using this recording method is useful for studying central nervous dysfunctions. Being evoked by acoustic stimuli, however, these responses are difficult to evaluate in cases of inner ear dysfunction. We recorded responses of the auditory pathway evoked by electrical stimulation of the promotory in animal experiments. The usefulness of responses evoked by electrical stimulation of the promotory in the presence of inner ear dysfunction was studied in comparison with the responses evoked by acoustic stimulation.
