Dr. Anand Puppala delivered the 21st Ralph B. Peck Award Lecture on February 28, 2020, at the ASCE GeoCongress event held in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This introduction briefly reviews Dr. Puppala's contributions to geotechnical engineering and discusses some of the highlights of the corresponding paper.
