摘要
With the advance of society, the importance of English has been prevailing. One of the important goals of English teaching is to cultivate students' autonomous learning ability. Affective factor is decisive in English education Based on the present situation of the colleges students' autonomous learning, this paper mainly introduces the role that affective factor plays in English teaching; and English teachers should have the awareness of cultivating students' autonomous learning ability, stimulate students' autonomous learning motivation, help students to set study goals, and innovate the assessment system by adopting the method of encouraging the students' self-development to help the students to enhance their awareness and abilities of autonomous learning.
